Proof, not a radius map

Recent jobs, and the town each one was in

Most county-wide carpentry pages list towns they would like to work in. This is a list of towns we have worked in.

Jobs completed in the twelve months to August 2026.
TownJob
BathHorsebox converted to a home office
TrowbridgeUnder-stair rebuild
FromeArched side gate
SalisburyInternal doors, architrave and skirting
DevizesTimber cladding to a rear elevation
SherborneBoarded gate and fence to a stone wall

Bath, Frome and Sherborne are outside Wiltshire — they are on the list because the work was real, and because they show the honest shape of the radius rather than a circle drawn on a map.

Everywhere else

The workshop is at 6 Court Street in Trowbridge, in the BA14 postcode. Most work is within about twenty miles of it, which covers west and central Wiltshire and a good part of Somerset. For larger jobs we go further — Salisbury is 35 miles, Swindon 30, and both are normal working distance for joinery of any size.

Travel is priced into the estimate rather than added as a line at the end. If a job is far enough out that the travel makes it uneconomic, we will say so up front instead of padding the quote and hoping.

Alex delivered a bit of an unconventional project for us, conversion of a vintage horse box trailer to a home office. I'm delighted with the result. Alex is enthusiastic, creative, and skilfull. He worked hard to achieve a high quality outcome. Highly recommended.

Awesome work from Alex, great attention to detail, thorough in getting the job done, and he cleaned up after himself as well - wouldn't hesitate to recommend (fitted architrave and skirting around our three bed bungalow)

Had wooden back gate made by Alex for side of property. Excellent craftsmanship and quality gate made of high grade materials fixtures and fittings as required to make it very secure.

Working across Wiltshire — common questions

How far do you travel?
